Our Backstory

Andrew

Charissa

I was born in Franklin, Indiana, and from the time I was a baby until now, I have always been in church. My grandfather was the Pastor at the church that we attended and my parents were faithful believers. During a week of special meetings, at the age of six, I was convicted of my sinfulness. I cannot remember exactly what was taught, but I remember knowing that I was a sinner on my way to Hell. I did not trust Christ at the meeting, but when I returned home that night, I spoke to my father about what I had heard. My father explained further what it meant to trust Christ, and as a six year-old boy I trusted in Jesus alone for salvation.

During my early teen years, I began to doubt my salvation. I spent two years looking at myself in the mirror and trying to figure out if I was really saved. Eventually by God’s grace, I recognized that simple trust in God’s promises was how I could know for sure I was on my way to Heaven. It is a wonderful thing to be held in God’s hand!

It was in my later teen years that God arrested my attention to evangelism. I was on my way to becoming a DNR officer, and God showed me that my pursuits were mine and not His. I surrendered to preach in the fall of 2018, and I surrendered to be an Evangelist for the Lord in the summer of 2019. God truly has directed all the way, and I am blessed to be His servant.

In 2022, I married my wife Charissa. We had known each other since we were young kids, and had dated over three years through Bible college. We are excited as we begin serving the Lord together!

Charissa

I grew up in Martinsville, Indiana, where my parents were involved in a Christian school ministry. When I was four years old, I realized my need of a Savior and asked Jesus to save me.

Throughout my elementary and high school years, I faced some trials that really highlighted my need to have a close and dependent relationship on God. I’m thankful for some godly teachers and mentors that stepped in to encourage me to continue in my walk with God, even through those difficult years. It’s been beautiful to see God use the lessons learned during those trials for the good of others.

I love to teach. I went to Indiana Baptist College and received a degree in secondary education. While I enjoyed time teaching in a classroom, during college, God really opened my eyes to the wonderful and important influence a godly wife and mother can have. Now my delight is to serve alongside Andrew as we raise our family, reach the lost, and encourage Christians.

Our Burden

In a world growing increasing distanced from the Bible and God, there is a tremendous need for the life-changing truth of the Gospel! Our world does not need reform, it needs new life in Jesus Christ. I believe that the Lord has called and equipped me to serve Him as an Evangelist. It is my desire to preach the Gospel that is the power of God unto salvation! I believe that as God’s Word is proclaimed and God’s Spirit is at work, that believers will be revived and lost souls will trust in Christ. God has not stopped working in our world, and as men of God have done through the ages, we must herald the Good News! I believe as the Gospel is proclaimed, that communities, cities, and countries will be radically changed by the power of God! Let us boldly share Jesus!

Our Beliefs

Bible: The verbal inspiration, total accuracy, and absolute authority of the Bible.
God: The Bible teaches one God in three Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
Man: Adam sinned, and as a result all of mankind are born sinners guilty before a righteous God.
Jesus Christ: The virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His sinless life, and His substitutionary atonement for sinners.
Salvation: Justification through faith alone in Christ alone. All men are invited to believe in Christ.
Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convinces man of his sinfulness, of the judgment he deserves, and that he needs Christ’s righteousness.
